New York and Philadelphia

On a very cold morning the group split into two, all travelling on the Subway to Battery Park, then dividing to travel on the ferry past the Statue of Liberty and the other to Ellis Island (a historical centre for immigration).

One group then visited Wall Street and walked around the amazingly busy and interesting New York  in the Soho district.

We then traveled to Philadelphia via bus, where we were lucky enough to be upgraded and allocated the bus that the Philadelphia Eagles use, something that our bigger players were very pleased about.

After the homestay with Conestoga families, the boys were taken on a tour of downtown Philadelphia, the former capital of America. A visit to the Historical Liberty Bell and a guided tour of Independance Hall gave the boys and insightful explanation of the history of the birthplace of the United States and the ensuing politics and political figures
